Two Easy and Cute Halloween Treats that I took to a party for our local moms club. My 7 year old was able to help make these and she loved to eat them too!
Chocolate Spiders
Ingredients
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups Fiber One® original bran cereal
48 miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits
Directions
In 2-quart saucepan, heat butterscotch chips and chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Gently stir in cereal until well coated. Onto waxed paper, drop mixture by teaspoonfuls to form 24 "spiders" Press 2 baking bits onto each to resemble eyes. Refrigerate until set.
Ghost Cookies
Ingredients
12 oz. vanilla-flavored candy coating, cut into pieces
1 (1-lb.) pkg. peanut butter-filled sandwich cookies (Nutter Butter)
64 miniature chocolate chips
Directions
In small saucepan, melt candy coating over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Line cookie sheets with waxed paper. Holding cookie with tongs, dip entire top and side of each cookie into melted coating, letting excess drip off. Lay flat, coated side up, on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Place 2 chocolate chips in coating to form eyes. Let stand about 10 minutes until set. (If children are helping, allow coated ghosts to cool a bit before allowing the kids to place the mini-chocolate-chip eyes on each figure.)
